I've felt his pain
under close scrutiny
An eyelid would not shutter
without second guessing
and re-addressing
whether or not it should blink

But then feeling it close
and as it does
taking a step ahead
only to find
the eye had not blinked
Leaving no room to move
during an anticipated momentary lapse of logic
