I went to the Braves game. We won. Yay. Maybe we will really win it all this year.

What I saw:
A begger with a sign which read, "Why lie? Need money for beer". Classic material indeed. He bummed a cigarette off my brother and jus like anytime you connect with a bum/begger you can never depart without some signature gesture/handshake from the fellow. Sometimes you have to imitate each others' voices, and in an ultra high-pitched tone and almost in complete synchronization, rehearse back to each other the parting phrase "Aight den".

What I listened to:
A cd that my brother threw together. I like the cds that he puts together, even tho they are usually imitation "N O W that's what I call music" cds with all the trendy radio songs that I've already heard umpteen times. But I really enjoy looking at things from others' perspectives, and especially with music, because it's neat to behold the totality of what each song represents and take it seriously on account of my brother's "word". Trendy rap is what we are talking about. I am honestly one of rap's truest enthusiasts, but the stuff nowdays about money aggrevates my gag reflex. Give it up. I am not impressed. Anything but money.
Yea, so anyway, this cd wasn't like that tho. It had some classic stuff from back in the day. And one of those songs is so amazing, it is hard to put into words. The things that fascinate me most about music is what the music represents, the style, original style, unique invention, jargon, niches, places where some words/phrases have taken different meanings. Umm, the culture behind the music is so amazing to me. Even still, if I do listen to music which doesn't excite me culturally, the drop in appreciation is still negligible. I jus love it all. But some forms are special, and basically groundbreaking and unfounded, inventive and insanely creative.
This one song was one of those, and it has a simple bassline which is characterized by a three beat bassline which decends in tone 3 times before rising and starting all over. It is continous and fluid--the perfect backdrop fer a talented mc with a voice so honest and true in its naturally confident and earnest display. I can't describe the passions which are laid down, and the creative flows which are rhythmically placed on beat, and the inventive new words and ways used to say something simple and dear. Does this sound like the average rap song? Hahaha, I get these feelings from almost every rap song.

People sometimes wonder why I call myself a geek? Because you have to be a geek to talk about music (or anything else) in this way. You have to be a geek to be passionate about music, technology, religion, sports, culture, the pursuit of what's right, and life in general. Those are my passions and often I exceed normal people's patience with how much of said topics they'd like to think about and digest in daily conversation and activities. That geek is here with you now, giving you some blog love. Being a geek sounds bad, but nowdays it's not bad meaning bad but bad meaning good, don 'cha know?

I am always surprised when people give me the raised eyebrow after learning my username/dj name. Dude, where have you been? Haven't you seen tons of commercials glamorizing computer geeks, techie geeks and making direct use of the word itself? That makes it a good thing. However, I have always been careful not to say that I am a computer geek because although I do love the computer and the net, I am not especially skilled, and undeserving of such a title. I only wish. But soon, after college, I will be skilled. But besides being a culture, music, religion, etc. geek I am also a dork...hehehe. Why? Because I love to laugh at myself.

You have been roaming the quandries of imagination with your host Micah. Please come again.
Oyea I forgot to quote those lyrics I quoted a couple of posts back. I'll do that now. It is a song by BDP called "Love's Gonna Get 'cha (Material Love).
