More Geek Speak

Again, I am a self proclaimed geek. Twice, in as many days, I left people perplexed as to why I would want to call myself a geek. For me it's kinda like a chess game, in which the result is a stalemate. Since I am just chill anyway, a stalemate is really a victory because it returns me to my original state. But calling myself a geek is different. It's like I am bending the rules, turning the game inside out, and exposing myself and a reflection of you at the same time. Exposing your nature and your ability to think critically for yourself thru your own reasoning.

It's like a powerful response presented by a blank stare. A response to society and its notions on what exactly is cool, perhaps accorded to what buzzwords may be popular at the time. Yet it warrents a reaction.

I like it because I like the fact that it makes people judge me, even slants their judgements if they allow it. Immediately I can see the wheels turning in their heads, and usually I can see their countenance change immediately in reaction, sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. This, I get kicks out of. It is the proverbial wrench in your 100 spokes. The salt in the game. The cavity in your iced out grill. You better let those notions go.
